Harvard Museums of Science & Culture Partners with KultureCity® To Offer A More Inclusive Experience for Museum Visitors with Sensory Challenges

KultureCity,® a leading nonprofit dedicated to promoting inclusivity and accessibility for individuals with sensory needs, reports that one in every four people in the U.S. has an invisible disability. This includes autism spectrum disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, attention-deficit disorder, and other similar conditions. A sensory-sensitive individual may become overwhelmed by noises, smells, lights, and crowds.

The Harvard Museums of Science & Culture (HMSC) is proud to be a certified KultureCity® partner, furthering its commitment to making all affiliated partner museums sensory inclusive. Founded on the belief that every person deserves to fully participate in all aspects of life, KultureCity® has been a driving force in fostering a culture of acceptance. In alignment with this shared goal, the Harvard Museums of Science & Culture continue to focus efforts on making Harvard’s extraordinary resources as accessible as possible—creating shared value for the University and for communities near and far.
