DESCRIPTION:<p>Each year, the Harvard Law School Project on Disability (HPOD) welcomes the community to learn more about its ongoing <a href="https://hpod.law.harvard.edu/news/in-review/hpod-spring-2025"><strong>research, capacity-building, and&nbsp;awareness-raising</strong></a> activities aimed at enabling civil society to undertake informed disability scholarship and&nbsp;advocacy across an array of issue areas. Join the HPOD team&nbsp;once again this year on <strong>September 17th</strong>, from<strong> 12:20 to 1:30pm </strong>US Eastern time, in the <strong>Morgan Courtroom</strong>, located on the third floor of <a href="https://hls.harvard.edu/facilities/buildings-overview/austin-hall/"><strong>Austin Hall</strong></a>.</p><p>Co-founders, <strong>Professors Bill Alford</strong> and <strong>Michael Stein</strong>, will be joined by HPOD's Senior Director for East Asia&nbsp;<strong>Dr. Fengming Cui</strong>; Director of Advocacy Initiatives&nbsp;<strong>Hezzy Smith</strong>; and Self-Advocacy Associate&nbsp;<strong>Anne Fracht</strong>&nbsp;to discuss HPOD&nbsp;activities ranging&nbsp;from&nbsp;<a href="https://hpod.law.harvard.edu/news/entry/disability-inclusive-climate-resilience"><strong>disability-inclusive climate action&nbsp;and&nbsp;research</strong></a>&nbsp;and <a href="https://hcf.fas.harvard.edu/our-impact/promoting-dignity-disability-china/"><strong>disability legal scholarship in East Asia</strong></a> to&nbsp;<a href="http://hpod.law.harvard.edu/news/entry/supported-decision-making-is-about-us"><strong>participatory research</strong></a>&nbsp;designed and conducted with persons with disabilities and <a href="https://hpod.law.harvard.edu/news/entry/shadow-reporting-self-advocacy"><strong>human rights reporting</strong></a>&nbsp;to United Nations treaty bodies on priority issues for persons with intellectual disabilities, and much more.&nbsp;</p><p>Boxed lunches and ASL interpretation&nbsp;will be provided.</p>
